Front D44

I ordered the front and rear axles about 6 months apart from Rubicon Express. RE was just beginning to make brackets for TJ axles and I got the first Dana 44 axles they produced. RE put the brackets on, but the axles are built by Currie Enterprises.

Both axles have 5-on-5.5" bolt patterns, heavy-duty housings, large bearings, 5.38:1 ring & pinion, and ARB air lockers.

In order to maintain 5-on-5.5" bolt spacing, this axle is built with early Dodge knuckles, Ford F150 rotors, Chevy hubs and Chevy brakes. When I upgraded the steering I changed the knuckles to Wagoneer. I have also upgraded the axle shafts to Warn 4340 alloy axles and CTM Racing Cr-Mo U-joints.

The rear axle has 11x2.25" drum brakes from a late-70s Ford F150.
