Welcome to Daydreamer's web page. My family and I have been wheel'n for over  20 years.  We have owned several 4X's, including a Dodge Power Wagon, a full size Blazer, a CJ5 (that I totaled), and finally my best, this '79 CJ7.

For more information about the Jeep take a look at the Spec sheet: Jeep Spec Sheet

Personal Interests:

My family consists of my wife Laurene (nickname is Renie) and my daughter Denise (nickname Denie).

Renie and I have been married since July '72.  She is a supervisor at Fluor Corporation, located in Aliso Viejo, Ca.  She has worked at Fluor since 1973.  She is my best helper and provides the extra set of hands when needed  when fabricating or repairing something.

Denie has sort of flown the coup as she has graduated from college with her BA in Psychology and is looking forward to earning her MA in Psychology with emphasis in Family and Marriage Thearpy.

I work as a Mechanical Engineer for Parker Hannifin Corporation in Irvine, Ca. I have been there since '76.  My existing title is Sr. Project Engineer.  My responsibilities have included some interesting assignments such as working on the Space Shuttle, handling all off site cyogenic and hypergolic fuel testing for Parker, and currently responsible for pneumatic valve components for the commerical and military aircraft.   This last responsibility keeps me pretty busy.  I love the challenge of everyday, not knowing exactly what I will be doing or what crises I get involved in.

  • 4-Wheelin is my passion.  If I could do wheel'n as a job, then I would think that I was in heaven.  I am active in West Coast 4-Wheel Drive Club, Inc.   http://www.westcoast4x4.com and have been a member since 1987.  I have been  a member, the president (for too many years), the vice president, and finally, a member.  I like the latter as it is a lot less stressful.
  • I spend hours designing, creating and fabricating improvements for my Jeep and friends rigs, Jeeps, TLC's, etc.   When something needs to be fixed or modified it is off to Steve's garage!  I guess that I am referred to by my friends as the Jeep Doctor as I am always working on some sort of rig or another.   I love to fabricate custom stuff for the rig, whether it is a skid plate, a bumper that needs to be designed and welded,  a roll bar installation, or just fix'n stuff.  When I am done, the satifaction I get is the thanks from my friends or the compliments on my own stuff.
  • Car Maintenance
Car maintenance keeps me busy since I own 5 cars.  I have a '70 Challenger 440, and the Jeep of course.  That is not counting the motorhome used for bringing the home to the wheel'n trips and the Dodge Diesel Ram 4 x 4 or the Jeep trailer to transport the Jeep on.
  • Fishing/Hunting
I don't get to do enough of this recreation anymore.   I spend a few weekends a year in the Pacific Ocean out of San Diego fishing and I really like bird hunting, and may try to step back into that again soon.
